A state of the art controller, with firmware designed for radiant heating systems. The 5" touch display, the intuitive graphical user interface, and the selectable language provides comfort and simplicity, despite the many new features. The Touch Control is a central unit for the bus-system, but it also a compact 1-zone controller. The system is expandable with zone modules, up to 10 zones. CM-Net module

The CM-Net package offers the most advanced communication solutions. Afther the CM-Net module is installed into any Plus or Eco Plus type controller, the user can choose between multiple comfortable remote monitoring and control options. The CM-Net provides Ethernet connection, a Modbus TCP interface for integration into Building Management Systems, meanwhile maintaining its own local webserver with the CM-Net webapplication on it. Plus | Eco Plus
Main Features
The R-Z1 is the first of the high-end radiant heating controllers that Indicon has to offer. It is available in Plus (single-stage and two-stage), and Eco Plus (modulation control too) versions. It is capable of controlling one heating zone, regardless of the type of heater used (luminous, or dark / tube heater). In single-stage mode it has two separately switchable channels. Control
The R-Z1 Plus (along with the necessary blackbulb radiant heat sensor) can be used as a single-stage and two-stage controller, meanwhile the Eco Plus version is capable of modulation (or so-called stepless) control too. All control programs are based on an advanced PI control algorithm. The advantages of the two-stage, and especially the modulation control are (among others) the significant energy cost savings, the reduced emissions, and the perfect heatcomfort. In case of modulation control, not only the gas valves are modulated but the fans as well. This way the Eco Plus controller family is a significant help in meeting the "eco-design" requirements of the ERP 2018 EU directive, that applies to heating systems with luminous, and with dark (tube) heaters too.
Further features
The display and settings of the controller allow the user to view or adjust lots of different settings and parameters. The most important of these are the following:
  • daytime and nighttime temperature setpoints for each zone
  • Weekly Time Program
  • storeage and restoration of default and custom settings
  • frost protection limit
  • holiday program
  • service (or "chimney sweep") operation
  • minimal runtime
  • sensor correction (offset)
  • overtime heating feature
  • outside air temperature (with SA sensor)
  • cumulated operation hours for each zone
  • adjustable fan overrun
  • occasional error and reset alarms
  • heater restart function - reset button
Weekly Time Programs
The Weekly Time Program can be assigned to the zone, and consists of a maximum of 19 switching points. Every switching point has its own sequence number, a switching time and a setpoint (daytime or nighttime) to switch to. The Time Program is based on a real time clock, it has a calendar and automatic switch (option to deactivate) to daylight saving time.
Communication
It becomes more and more important and popular to have the ability to remotely monitor and controll our heating system, no matter if it is in the next building or the or on the other side of the globe. The Indicon R controllers can accomodate two different types of communication modules as optional accessories.
The CM-Net module is the newest member of our product range, and at the same time it is the most advanced communication solution, providing the following:
  • Ethernet connection
  • Modbus over TCP/IP interface for simple integration into Building Management Systems
  • Local webserver and web application with intuitive, responsive graphical user interface to provide easy access to our heating system from any device with a web browser (e.g.: PC, Smart devices)
  • Furthermore, we provide a secure central webserver service free of charge, that enables Plug'N'Play experience for our users. For further details and information on the CM-Net package, please click here.

The CM-485 provides Modbus RTU or ASCII interface over RS-485 physical bus, which is a perfect and popular solution for integration into Building Management Systems.
Heat-up Optimization
The software of all Indicon R controllers include the automatic Heat-up Optimization, that could easily mean significant energy cost savings for the users. This feature takes the previous heat-up data and the measured outside temperature as a base to ensure that the required zone temperature is always reached exactly at the time it is required, not earlier and not later. The feature is entirely automatic, not adjustable, and always adapts to any change in the heating system or in the heating zone, and of course the outside air temperature. Special Inputs and Outputs
The Indicon R controllers have multiple special inputs and outputs beside the control relays of the zones, and the sensor inputs. Every controller has an error relay output, alarm and remote operation input. Furthermore, every heating zone has its own fan relay output, and a multifunctional input called 'CT' that can be configured for 5 different purposes. CT is a potential-free ('dry') contact, that can optionally serve for example as a fan feedback contact, input for door or crane operation, or contact for an RH limit sensor.
Protection & Security
All controller cases are made of UV-resistant plastic, and have IP65 protection. The front panel can be locked with a key, it is protected by a transparent plastic door, and the access to the controller can be restricted with an optional PIN-code protection.
